When the decision was made that Gorilla Glue Europe Ltd’s Head Office would be relocated and refurbished, only an exceptionally high performing system would be up for the job. The brief was to transform and separate the office spaces, reception area, corridors and meeting room and give the office space the ‘wow’ factor. The project was completed in September 2018 with the help of Nevill Long North West and K McLaughlin Ceilings & Partitions.
The Gorilla Glue Company (Gorilla Glue Europe’s parent company) is a family run company that is based in Cincinnati, Ohio and has been selling Gorilla Glue for over two decades. The company has since expanded its offerings to include premium Gorilla tapes, sealants and adhesives, along with their skincare brand O’Keeffe’s Company. The UK head office recently relocated to the offices in Chorley and commissioned the Cat B refurbishment to their new base.
Kieron McLaughlin of K Mclaughlin Ceilings & Partitions invited Nevill Long to the site before the work began to give an idea of the budget and schedule of works. The existing space was initially divided up by solid partitioning, making the space dark and closed off. An essential part of the brief was that the refurbishment allowed for more light to enter the space.
Nevill Long’s North West branch supplied the drylining, insulation and frameless glazing for the head office renovation. Longline Vision was selected as the partitioning system of choice as it combines design versatility and rapid installation to effortlessly create bright open spaces. The system also has slim aluminium profiles without vertical mullions between the panes, making it easy to create a modern look for any space.
The Longline Vision system offers a variety of glazing options and manifestations giving many possibilities to designers! As part of the brief, The Gorilla Glue Company wanted to incorporate the company and brand (Gorilla & O’Keeffe’s) logo onto the single glazed, frameless glazing without it being too overpowering. The designers opted for a branded manifestation that was printed onto frosted film and continued throughout the space. This meant that bright colours could be used as bold feature walls throughout the office.
The reception area was initially one large space that was made slightly smaller with the frameless glazing to create a new meeting room for members of staff to use. The refurbishment was carried out by Kieron McLaughlin from K McLaughlin Ceilings & Partitions, a long established and loyal customer, who said: “we have used the Longline Vision system so many times as it really is an attractive and cost effective solution for glazed partitioning systems, the head office now has the ‘wow’ factor Gorilla Glue wanted”.
