The BMF represents the building materials distribution sector, communicating with a wider audience about the topics and issues that matter to merchants and suppliers. With an aim to build excellence in materials supply, the BMF is the only organisation protecting the interests of plumbing, heating, roofing, decorative and timber merchants, and their suppliers.
Available only to members, the BMF Information Centre contains useful resources such as market data, business guides and the BMF blog.
Seeking to increase recognition of offsite construction as a route to achieving better quality and sustainability in building projects, Buildoffsite is the voice of the offsite sector. It promotes a wider use of offsite methods, encourages the development of innovative new solutions, and improves clients’ and suppliers’ understanding of the benefits of offsite construction.
With a membership comprising main contractors, specialist contractors, manufacturers and distributors, the FIS represents the complete supply chain for interior fit-out and finishes. Some resources in the Knowledge Hub are open to all, while some are for members only as part of developing the skills and technical competence of the sector.
Covering both pitched roofing and flat roofing, the NFRC is the UK’s largest and most influential roofing trade body. In promoting roofing as a skilled and professional sector, it ensures contractor and supplier members are at the forefront of current roofing practice, including campaigns like Safe2Torch, and specialisms like heritage roofing, green roofs, and solar.

The structural timber sector encompasses manufacturers and suppliers of the building envelope, as well as main contractors. The STA focus on expert technical guidance and research to drive innovation and quality in product design and building construction. It is a united voice for the sector, promoting the sustainable credentials of using timber, including as part of offsite solutions.
The comprehensive STA library includes many advice notes, technical bulletins and information papers that are open to all, and some that are for members only.
TICA has promoted training and best practice among contractors and apprentices in the industrial and commercial insulation sector since 1957. It strives to deliver a fully skilled workforce protecting the commercial insulation industry from unskilled labour through training, assessment and accreditation. TICA members benefit from a wealth of knowledge housed in their members’ area.
