Quelfire's Acoustic Intumescent Putty Pads are designed to preserve the fire resistance and acoustic performance of plasterboard partitions where plastic or metal electrical socket boxes have been installed.
These mouldable, non-setting silicone-based intumescent polymer pads are easy to install by hand and can be retrofitted without special tools. In the event of a fire, the pads expand to form a robust fire resistant char, preventing the passage of fire and smoke through the socket box and cable penetrations. Acoustically tested to BS EN ISO 140-3:1995, they achieve up to 70dB reduction, helping to minimise room-to-room noise transfer. Additionally, the pads contribute to reducing air leakage in properties, thereby helping to lower energy costs and carbon emissions. Suitable for both single and double socket boxes, they have been tested to the principles of BS EN 1366-3, providing up to 2 hours (120 minutes) of integrity and insulation.
