DuPont™ Tyvek® Butyl Tape is a butyl based sealant designed specifically for use with Tyvek® breather membranes or AirGuard® Air Vapour Control Layers. This double-sided butyl tape is compatible with most common building materials including brickwork, blockwork, masonry, timber, metalwork and most plastic products and helps you achieve airtight and watertight seals that can also withstand humidity and chemicals. Tyvek® Butyl Tape is most effective when used under compression – for example, under a timber batten. It is recommended for perimeters, chimneys and abutments, and also for sealing nail penetrations and around electrical sockets.
