ECOSE® Technology is Knauf Insulation’s revoluntionary sustainable bio-based binder* used in the manufacture of all their Glass Mineral Wool products, and the majority of their Rock Mineral Wool products. Invented 10 years ago, it is not only unique, but very much central to Knauf Insulation’s sustainability strategy.
Knauf Insulation’s Mineral Wool made with ECOSE® Technology, contains no added phenol or formaldehyde. This means their insulation generates very low levels of dust, increasing the comfort of those handling it. ECOSE® Technology also makes Knauf Insulation’s insulation soft to touch and easy to handle. It is made from natural raw materials that are rapidly renewable and is 70% less energy-intensive to manufacture than traditional binders, so it is kinder to the environment too.
